I've begun work on a new short story detailing the evolution of a character that's been popping up in rough drafts and scraps of writing lately. I have the idea that if I can better define him as a person, the stories he's already tied into will flesh out accordingly. As such, I'm looking for any pieces of wisdom/information on the following subjects.

Abuse
Incest
Drug addiction/prostitution (yes, as in both subjects being entwined)
Subversive (read cult) philosophies and how they can warp a person's outlook
